Mrs. Barahal, of West Bloomfield, died January 29, after sundown, at the age of 96. Graduate of Detroit Central High School, a big supporter of Hadassah. Worked for the Oakland County Department of Public Health, performing dental hygiene and fluoride treatments for children in schools. Worked as an usher at the Michigan Opera House as well as other venues. Was active in community health issues, including maintaining availability and access to archived X-rays, and handicap access in public facilities. Hobbies and interests included classical music, opera, piano, gardening, nature, animal welfare, sewing, knitting and other crafts. Member of The Creative Clothing Club. Active in charity: Making blankets for children in the Children’s Hospital, contributing to Hadassah, as well as other charities. Active member of the Jewish community Love for family and friends. She respected and wanted to help everybody she knew, and had the love, respect, and admiration of those who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Max Barahal. Devoted mother of Judith Barahal and Dr. David (Cari) Barahal. Dear sister of the late Allen (late Ethel) Bobroff and the late Charlotte (late Dr. George) Miller. Loving grandmother of Derek Gibbins and Alyssa (Steve) Schicketanz.
