GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 4:00 PM TUESDAY (TODAY) at HEBREW MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY Age 96, of Livonia, formerly of Farmington Hills, he died November 20, 2017 The oldest of 5 siblings, he was a decorated navy senior grade lieutenant, Mr Friedman was a former commander of the Silverman Post of Jewish War Veterans, a past president of Centennial Lodge of B'nai B'rith, a member of Oak Park Masonic Lodge and a member of Young Israel of Greenfield. An engineer, he also was an insurance agent. A humble man, he had a very rare blood type and throughout his life has saved thousands of others with his blood donations. Beloved husband to the late Helen (Handelzaltz) Friedman. Devoted father of Alisa (Vitaly) Grossman. Loving grandfather of Joshua Grossman and Alexandra Grossman. Treasured son to the late Lena and late Samuel Friedman. Cherished son-in-law to the late Sarah and late Louis Serebnitsky. Dear brother of the late Herman Friedman, late Albert Friedman, late Irving Friedman and late Bernard Friedman. Dear brother-in-law of Earl (Debra) Serap, Sharon (late Harry) Rubenstein.
