Age 88, of Florida, formerly of Michigan. When David Bachaiov was 16 years old, he joined the Palyam (Sea Cadets) and helped break the blockades by the shores of Israel. He then joined and fought with the Palmach (which was absorbed by Hagannah and then became IDF) and fought during the War Of Independence including the battle to free the citizens of the old Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem by creating an alternative road through the mountains. In the early years of living in the United States, he first owned 2 cement trucks which he sold and then owned D & R Army Navy Surplus Store on the East Side of Detroit. a GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at B'NAI ISRAEL CEMETERY in Novi. Family Info: Father of Claire Lynn Epstein, Mark Bachaiov, Abby (Randy) McBride and Sherri (Jerry) Nosanchuk. grandfather of Aaron (Kristina Ratajczak) Epstein, Chad Epstein, Carli Epstein, Jacob Bachaiov, Ruthy McBride, Charley McBride and Max Nosanchuk. Brother of the late Avrohom (Yaffa) Bachaiov and the late Tamara (Late Alex) Shmulovich. Survived by loving nieces and nephews including Riya Karvate and Rina Asherov, he is also survived by his ex-wife, Prissy Bachaiov.
