HARRY R. GLASSMAN

Age 94, of Oak Park, died January 26th.

Mr. Glassman was a World War II army veteran, serving from 1943 till 1946. He participated in the Battle of Normandy with the 79th Infantry. He received the Purple Heart in 1946 and in 2004, received the Bronze Star for his services. Interviewed for the Veterans Oral History Project in 2007, Mr. Glassman was also a past president of the Downtown Fox Chapter of B'nai B'rith. A member of the Oak Park Seniors, he also volunteered for Meals On Wheels and participated with Walking Volleyball and Baseball and the Senior Olympics.

The funeral service will be held at Hebrew Memorial Chapel

Beloved husband for 55 years to the late Margaret Glassman.
Devoted father to Alexander (Diane Morrison) Glassman, Edward (M.J.) Glassman and Lea Trager.
Proud grandfather of Katie (Yaniv Salzburg) Glassman-Salzburg, Jonnah Glassman, Stacy (Jason Carls) Trager-Carls, Dr. Jason (Stacy) Trager.
Adoring great-grandfather of Matthew Pierce Trager.
Dear brother of Dorothy Rothman and predeceased by 7 other siblings.
He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
